Kylie Rebecca Sargant was born in Sydney, Australia. She began to sing at the age of four, commenced playing the trumpet at eight years of age and the piano at ten. Her high school education was at Cheltenham Girls High School in Sydney and from the age of 15 she began singing with many prestigious choirs whilst also performing in school and community orchestras in some of the most important theatres in Sydney, which also included her debut at the famous Sydney Opera House.
Whilst commencing her University education majoring in Languages and Music, in 1995 she began studying classical voice and became the youngest member at that time to join the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. Kylie received her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Sydney and in 2000 participated in the Sydney Olympics with the Sydney Philharmonic Choirs performing the Berlioz “Te deum”. In 2001 she sang and performed with them in the concerts and CD recording of the Barbra Streisand “Timeless” tour.
In August of that year, the famous Australian soprano Jane Edwards accepts Kylie as her pupil. Then in 2002 Kylie joined the prestigious sacred music choir of St.James Church, Sydney as a principal soprano and regularly performed for official government ceremonies and exclusive concerts throughout Australia.
In 2003 Kylie moves to Italy (for love) and begins studies in modern Italian music and the Italian “romanza.” Kylie also breaks into the Italian entertainment world as an actress and model, working in television variety shows, commercials, Ad campaigns and fashion shows.
Kylie signs a record contract (adopting the name Kylee Kate Sargant) which includes a classical crossover project produced by leading Italian radio, Radio Italia, with the Italian singer Andrea del Principe called “Buonanotte Amore.” Recorded under the label “solomusicaitaliana”, the CD was released with Edel throughout Europe and marked the beginning of an international “pop-opera” adventure for the duo. Kylee Kate represented Italian music all over the world, with some highlights including; representing Italy in Beijing, China for the 2008 Summer Olympics; headlining international (including Australia) and national tours. The duo also supported concert tours of many famous Italian artists such as Umberto Tozzi, Gianni Morandi and Al Bano; and made many national TV appearances including a television special on the duo for their album release.
Kylie continues to be in demand and performs regularly throughout Europe with her solo and group projects. In addition to her concert performing and Italian tv appearances, after becoming a mum, the past few years have seen Kylee Kate in demand writing and arranging music for fellow crossover artists and groups. She is currently the official vocal arranger and member of the famous Italian soprano group, Le Div4s who perform and tour regularly with Andrea Bocelli.
